Emma Stenhouse Art is excited to announce the Myer exclusive: Journey & Nurture

The new collection is called Journey and Nurture and is based on my own personal journeys and connections as an Indigenous woman.

“Emma Stenhouse SS23 collection, titled Journey & Nurture, is based on her personal journeys and connections as an Indigenous woman. Emma's story spans across four decades, desert and sea; as she explores the challenges and monuments of her cultural growth, connection to Country and being an Artist. Moving through time and space, from the bush to the beach her stories are formed by her deep relationship to land and guided by strong female role models in her community.”

The Products:

Emma’s Favorites:

  • Dry Creek Wall Art

Dry Creek is placed outside of Broken Hill in Outback NSW in Mutawintji National Park. A place of red dirt, dry land and gorges where waterholes remain after much needed rain. The dry creek bed winds its way through the gorge and dust is firmly settled on the rocks. The hot sun blazes down during the summer; the heat will eventually dry up these waterholes. The cave paintings tell stories of those who survived on this land and remind us if we care for Country, even in the dry, she will care for us.

Journeys and Connections is a visual narrative of moments, encounters and connections that we experience through time; the links or paths that bring us to them and those that guide us in other directions. Reef is a story captured along the coast of Warrnambool. Waves rush in over the reef, full of movement and life, the swish of the seaweed and the swirl of the salty water. It washes over the creatures on the reef, making them dance and then bow as the water recedes. The reef is a place of treasured creatures and sea blooms, urchins and shells.

    Fabrication: Polycarbonate Plastic/Glass .

“I'm proud to be able to highlight the beauty of our Country's Indigenous Artwork in a way that honours our Iconography and our culture, I hope that you connect with the stories as much as the artwork itself.”
