Tumbinyeri - A Connection to Life Exhibition @ Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

This collection of works reflects my deep bond with Country - encompassing our lands and waterways. It encapsulates the essence of storytelling, which is fundamental to Aboriginal culture. My narratives are conveyed through intuitive artworks that embody the diverse landscapes I hold dear. Tumbinyeri offers insight into cultural practices and ways of being and knowing, nurturing our connections with one another.

A Profound Connection to Country

As I grow and evolve as a First Nations woman and artist, I feel compelled to share what Country and significant moments in our lives represent. This relationship encompasses our Lands, our Waterways, and the privilege of meeting new individuals while sharing stories. As a multidisciplinary artist, these tales are intricately woven throughout this exhibition. My hope is that viewers are inspired to reflect on their own attachments to the places and people they cherish.

On display in Sofi's Lounge on Level 1, this free exhibition invites visitors to engage with culture as a living and evolving practice.

Presented by Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, a hotel for the arts.

On display until 30 September, 2026

The Artwork on Show

  • “I'm proud to be able to highlight the beauty of our Country's Indigenous Artwork in a way that honours our Iconography and our culture, I hope that you connect with the stories as much as the artwork itself.”
