"A weave is never empty, it is filled with the thoughts and feelings of the weaver" - Tasmania Elders who weave.

Completely true with this piece. As I sat for many hours weaving this, I was learning about my family history, making connections to lost family and memories. I was weaving new traditions for my own family. I was weaving all those missing pieces together.

I am a Ngarrindjeri woman. This is where my grandmother comes from. Country I'm yet to set my bare feet on, but believe me I will. I will connect to the koorong, the lower lakes of the Murray River, I will find my way there.

I started weaving the coil weave, Completely unaware of its connection to the Ngarrindjeri culture, my heart was happy to hear my Aunty's praise as she told me how well I did it.

My weave will hang in our new home, a reminder to me of the importance of connection to family and the softness of the home I make with my boys. Our place of comfort.

I am full of gratitude for Ella,Jack and Alex who framed my weave to perfection and beyond my expectations. They honoured my request on how I wanted it framed and then took that to another level.
Today, I cried as I saw my finished piece. This one has all the feels

Again, thank you to those who gathered the emu feathers from the bush.

I am proud in so many ways.
