Belonging

Country calls me home, the river whispers it's time to rest and cleanse. To wash away the tiredness that gets heavy. Country is maternal and nurturing, her colours are soft out here yet she is strong. My bare feet touch the sand and I feel home. No matter where the Journey leads she calls me back, teaches and accepts, it's now I belong, where my heart is happiest, I am home. Strong memories of searching for quandong trees, yabbies from the dam and a fire to dance in the night. My family have travelled this land and cared for her and she gives us a place to belong.
